Ragnar Kjartansson:
“I came to the Volksbühne theater first with my parents just before the wall came down in Berlin and saw a lady playing Hamlet. Super East German memories! I have come there regularly and it has always been the only theater that gives me kicks like an art museum. It's been on the forefront of the expanding the language of theater — not having a complex with the art world, but working with it. I have been so lucky to work there also, and that is pretty fantastic.”
