The High Line

Stuart Vevers
Public space

Stuart Vevers:

“I love walking. I try and walk to and from work, without fail every day, and I usually do the High Line. To me, it’s one of the best architectural moments of the 20th Century. Joel Sternfeld, the photographer whose suburban image we used as the backdrop to our first presentation at Coach, he had photographed the High Line in its raw state. And that was one of the things that kind of kickstarted the interest in turning it into a park! Sternfeld came to the last show, and his image, my favorite image of his of the High Line was the inspiration for that collection. So the High Line... That’s a big one. That’s a big part of my New York life.”
