“The Royal Exchange in Manchester, where I worked for 10 years, is the most extraordinary space, you walk into this big Victorian hall in the middle of Manchester and theater is actually inside a space module in the center. When you’re inside, it is permeable, so you’re aware of the large hall outside and you’re sitting within a larger context. You can have the most extraordinary experiences in there, I believe.”
