Antoine Predock:
“The first intention was to build some nice adobe homes spread around this big acreage. And I looked at the site and I thought, ‘Come on, we should consolidate those homes to make an event in the landscape that protects the floodplain below and not just fill the acreage with houses.’ It just seemed too obvious to me. I’m forever grateful for this project, as it was kind of a launch for me into other work, but it was a total gamble! My partners didn’t know anything about the development any more than I did. But I knew what the land deserved, for sure.”
